Software Support - Student Information Systems


Location:

Remote in CO, IA, IL, KS, MO, or WY.  Applicants must reside in one of these states to be considered for this position.

Salary Range:

$45,000 - $60,000 annually depending on experience and qualifications

CIC is looking for Education Support Coordinators with excellent communication and people skills to support our web-based student management software for K-12 School Districts. The primary responsibility is to deliver top-tier support to our customers while quickly and accurately troubleshooting their issues. The desired candidate must be self-directed with the ability to work independently while also collaborating on issues as a team.

Qualified candidates must be able to work under pressure and handle a multitude of support calls from K-12 personnel. As a key player on this team, you'll be delivering top-tier support to our clients, managing requests, troubleshooting software issues, and working closely with other CIC teams to escalate and resolve complex challenges.

Key Responsibilities:

• Learn CIC’s products (Infinite Campus and Tableau) and act as a Support Resource for CIC’s Customer Help Desk system.

• Resolve an average of 10 – 15 Support Calls per day with an average response time of 35 minutes or less and an average resolution time of 35 minutes or less.

• Ensure that customer support calls are handled in a timely manner and are not stagnant for more than 72 business hours.

• Ensure that less than 10% of total calls are escalated to external resources.

• Handle / resolve after hours support calls as necessary.

Software Developer - Government Team

Work Environment:

This is a remote/telecommuting position, but to ensure optimal collaboration and compliance with our regional operations, applicants must reside in one of the following states: Colorado, Illinois, Kansas, or Missouri.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a talented and motivated Software Developer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will design, develop, test, and maintain software applications and systems that drive our business forward. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software solutions that meet our clients’ needs and exceed their expectations.   • Key Responsibilities:
    • Design, develop, and implement software applications and systems based on project requirements and technical specifications.
    • Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code in languages such as VB.NET, VB 6.0, or others relevant to the project.
    • Participate in all stages of the software development lifecycle, including analysis, design, coding, testing, and deployment.
  • Collaboration & Communication:
    • Work closely with other developers, product managers, and stakeholders to gather and understand requirements, and provide technical input on project scope and feasibility.
    • Participate in code reviews, provide constructive feedback, and ensure adherence to coding standards and best practices.
    • Communicate effectively with team members and clients, providing updates on progress, addressing issues, and delivering solutions in a timely manner.
  • Testing & Quality Assurance:
    • Develop and execute unit tests, integration tests, and other testing strategies to ensure software quality and reliability.
    • Identify and fix bugs, performance issues, and other technical problems in a proactive manner.
    • Continuously improve software by incorporating feedback and leveraging best practices in testing and quality assurance.
  • Documentation & Support:
    • Create and maintain detailed documentation for software applications, including design documents, user manuals, and technical specifications.
    • Provide technical support and troubleshooting for software issues, and assist with user training and onboarding as needed.
    • Stay updated with the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices to contribute to ongoing improvement and innovation.
  • Project Management:
    • Assist in project planning, estimation, and task management to ensure timely delivery of software projects.
    • Collaborate with project managers to define project goals, timelines, and milestones.
    • Adapt to changing priorities and manage multiple tasks efficiently.

Required Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 5-7 years of experience in software development, support, or a related role.
  • 5-7 Years of VB.NET (.NET Forms with Visual Basic programming language) experience
  • 5-7 Years MS SQL Server Database experience
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with a focus on debugging and troubleshooting.
  • Proficiency in writing and maintaining code in multiple programming languages.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain technical issues to non-technical users.

Bonus Skills and Experience:

  • Crystal Reports experience
  • SSRS experience
  • 5-7 Years ASP.NET (Active Server Pages with VB and/or Java programming languages) experience
